This double feature, sexy storytelling event showcases performances by Send in the Girls Burlesque and Boylesque performances by ManUP!
Made up of theatre artists turned burlesque beauties, Edmonton's award-winning Send in the Girls Burlesque matches the performance style of burlesque with the narrative of theatre to create burlesque that tells a story and goes a step above the usual bump and grind. Since 2010, Send in the Girls Burlesque has created plays and performances which are both entertaining and thought-provoking. With a mandate to produce work which unapologetically discusses gender, feminism, politics, and body image while examining lesser known historical figures and events through a modern day satirical lens, an evening with Send in the Girls stays with you long after the final curtain.
Following a short intermission, our second act will take the stage!
After slaying the stage at last year's Jasper Pride Festival with BONDAGE, MAN UP! returns with their all-new production, CIRQUE ELECTRIQUE. Dressed in high heels, five of Alberta’s top male performers - G. Venchy (Gregory P Caswell), Fitzgerald Bitchwilliam III (Joshua Wolchansky), Beau Creep (Brennan Doucet), But Kidd Crimson (Jordan Sabo) and Rusty Kingfisher (CJ Rowein) - delivers a message of self-love, finding confidence in one’s vulnerability, and security in one’s sexuality.
